More Jason Edmiston x Mondo .... this time Dracula!

When Mondo released it's Universal Monsters print series a few days ago, I wondered where Bela Lugosi was.  I figured Dracula wasn't a Universal monster and left it at that, but I guess I was wrong!  Mondo held this one back, and rightly so, as I think it deserves it's own release. Here we have Bela Lugosi in the role he immortalized, Dracula! Inspired from a sequence where the dark prince hypnotizes one of his victims, this print is almost alive with the Hungarian's likeness! Similar to the other Universal Monster prints, this will be sized at 18" x 24", limited to 175 copies and priced at $45.00.  Release is 'some time' on Friday, October 28th.  Per usual, keep an eye on Mondo's twitter for the release time!

Silver Surfer by Kilian Eng x Mondo

In my terrible twist of fate, while excitedly scanning for Merde Mission, I missed out on this beauty.  Having never received the newsletter from Mondo, I was completely unawares of it's existence until it was too late!

Based on one of my favorite Marvel characters, Silver Surfer, this print is the first of a series of Marvel characters to be released by Mondo.  Speeding through space, witness to countless breathtaking phenomenons, with unlimited power, but forever alone, isolated from his home world, this print captures that power and isolation in a wonderful manner.  I've only just now realized my partiality to alien comic book characters that are forever isolated. Rendered in vibrant colors, Kilian's work is infused with a style that reminds me of animated films from the 70's and early 80's such as Wizards and Heavy Metal.  Amazing!

Created by the talented Kilian Eng, this beauty comes in as a hand numbered edition of 275 and sized at 36" x 24", this screen print is a beauty for sure!  I might need to trade my Creepshow print to get this one. Anyone interested??

As of this posting, the print has already sold out so good luck to those hunting on the secondary market, including me!

Man of Steel by Mondo x Martin Ansin

Back in June, a little movie called "Man of Steel" hit theatres. Some of you have heard of it. During the media marketing blitz, I came across shots of this poster. I only briefly glanced at them, as I assumed it was just an image a digital graphic artist had released. Little did I know it was a limited edition poster.  Created by the amazingly talented Martin Ansin, this print comes in two variants, the second being made of metal.

I should have paid closer attention because I ended up missing out on this release, and had to find it on the secondary market. I'm extremely excited to say, I've finally obtained a copy! Needless to say, I'll be paying closer attention to Mondo's releases from here on out.

Also waiting in the wings is Mike Sutfin's Artist Edition.  Available on his online shop soon

A little over 30 years ago, the dream team of George Romero, Tom Savini & Stephen King came together to create the film CREEPSHOW, and we couldn't be more excited to present Mike Sutfin's take on the classic horror anthology.

It may be a little early in the season for scares, but we have such a fun and horror filled October ahead of us that we couldn't help getting started a little prematurely.

Mondo does Ducktales! Oo-Oo

Ah to be a kid again, eating breakfast and watching Ducktales just before heading off to school, with that familiar theme song counting around my head during the walk to school. From Mondo's Twitter -

DUCKTALES was not only our favorite part of the DISNEY AFTERNOON (come on, it easily had the best theme song), but it was also one of our favorite video games for the NES. With DUCKTALES: REMASTERED, Capcom and Disney Interactive have upgraded the classic game we loved so much with incredible new animation and voice-acting from the original cast.

We are very excited to release a series of brand new posters by JJ Harrison, Anne Benjamin, Phantom City Creative and DKNG celebrating the proud inhabitants of Duckburg.

Limited Edition Elysium Print by Martin Ansin x Mondo

Though not specifically toy related, I came across this little poster that piqued my interest.   We don't have to delve deeply into the idea of pop culture influencing toys and vice versa. Its all well and good, because what we have here is a wonderful print by the Martin Ansin and Mondo. I'm a huge fan of Niell Blomkamp's District 9 and I'm quite excited to see what he has in store for filmgoers with his new sci fi celluloid tale, Elysium, opening tomorrow night!

Measuring 24" x 36"' this beauty is limited to 380 hand numbered prints. Priced at only $50 each, these little pretties, like most of Mondo's prints, will likely not last long!
