Silver Surfer by Kilian Eng x Mondo

In my terrible twist of fate, while excitedly scanning for Merde Mission, I missed out on this beauty.  Having never received the newsletter from Mondo, I was completely unawares of it's existence until it was too late! 

Based on one of my favorite Marvel characters, Silver Surfer, this print is the first of a series of Marvel characters to be released by Mondo.  Speeding through space, witness to countless breathtaking phenomenons, with unlimited power, but forever alone, isolated from his home world, this print captures that power and isolation in a wonderful manner.  I've only just now realized my partiality to alien comic book characters that are forever isolated. Rendered in vibrant colors, Kilian's work is infused with a style that reminds me of animated films from the 70's and early 80's such as Wizards and Heavy Metal.  Amazing!

Created by the talented Kilian Eng, this beauty comes in as a hand numbered edition of 275 and sized at 36" x 24", this screen print is a beauty for sure!  I might need to trade my Creepshow print to get this one. Anyone interested??

TaskOne's Luther Custom Raaar Series

TaskOne's next release is a clever one.  Taking a mold of his Raaar entry for Clutter's show, he's now releasing them for purchase! And why not. The work on the scales and wings are breathtaking! The Luther figures are a play on the recent iPhone release, coming in a 5c color edition and the monochrome 5s group. Standing 6 1/2" tall with a wingspan of 15", these little monsters are handpainted, rotocasted resin. The 5c series, like their iPhone namesake, come in green, blue, yellow, pink, and white and are priced at 99.99. The prestigious 5s group comes in silver, gold, and space grey and weighs in at 129.99. Hurry and catch them here!

Tasha Zimich's Sinister Sisters BlindBag Series Drops TODAY!

Tasha Zimich's paint work is astounding.  Full of detail and carrying a sort of dark cartoon quality, this fellow Canadian just might have some talent.. maybe.. if she's lucky : P  Her latest release, the Sinister Sisters will drop today at 12:00 noon PST, through Vinyl Riot.  The hand-painted Android figures will go for a mere $85 each, are blind-bagged, with one lucky buyer receiving a very special 11" x 14" print from Tasha herself!  Here at CBT, we can't wait to see more!

TIBONG's Topiary Labbits Series One

TIBONG has unleashed his "Topiary (mini) Labbits, Series One.  Each little lapin has been covered in faux turf and sculpted to appear as if they're sprouting from their hand painted pot. The series is limited to 12 planted-bunny-pals, previously announced as a blind bag series, TIBONG has since changed his mind, letting you whomever you like!  The Labbits stand at a variety of heights, the shortest being 3 inches, tallest is 5" and come with a free resin Minion head in the form of a magnet, zipper-pull, or pin.  There will be one Golden Minion head, the recipient will be eligible for a free mini/micro figure custom!  Good luck to those buyersI really like this series and I hope it's successful and spawns a 2nd, 3rd, 4th.. etc series! ESCToy Unveils Split Camo Snake

Erick Scarecrow AKA ESCToy has released a flurry of fine figures and items for NYCC 2013.  Of note to this particular collector, was the Split Camo Solid Snake.  Always a Metal Gear fan, after ESC teased this on Instagram, I've been following closely ever since! Based on the Play Arts Kai Naked Snake Jungle Fatigues version, this custom repaint is quite stunning in it's color use.  Limited to only 2pcs worldwide. These are hand painted 10" PVC figure. This figure is signed and numbered by Erick Scarecrow. Includes exclusive 11 x 17 giclee print by artist. Comes packed securely. Nanan1's Urban Lights Are Awesome

Always a sucker for new and interesting sculpts, we stumbled across the Urban Lights series by French Artist, Gaël Nanan Brienne aka Nanan1.  These Pixar-esque sculpts are made of resin and look to be a working headlight! Standing at 30cm, they're hand painted and the lamp actually works!  These ingenious little lamps are available here!  I just might get one for myself!

Ivory by Colus

I like Colus. His sleek black and white creations are a favorite of mine.  Recently revealed is Colus first self produced art figure entitled "IVORY". I first discovered his Kidrobot custom Dunny, The Hunted, and was instantly attracted to his monochromatic stylings. This time around, Colus is having a go himself, taking Ivory from concept all the way to completion! Digitally modeled in Maya, this jet black jumbo was printed with a Form1 3D printer and painted by Colus himself. 

Measuring almost 6" tall, this ebony pachyderm is a sight to see, with smooth transitions and a glossy finish.Though this ebony elephant is more show piece than production figure, the South African born artist is open to turning these into full production pieces! Make sure to reach out to Colus and maybe you'll be able to sort an Ivory out for yourself!
