Hoooo boy...hold onto your butts! Hot off the press is the release information for Garbage Pail Kids 2014 Series 1! You read that right, yet ANOTHER rebranding (that honestly doesn't fit quite so nicely with OS, ANS, FB, C - what do we call this, 2K14S1?!?) Anyway, there's lots to cover, so let's get to it.

First off...Topps, Inc. continues to kill it with massive sets containing loads of fun inserts. This set is no different with a base set consisting of 110 new cards (or 55 new characters). Parallels refuse to die but appear to be limited to just Black and Gold. There's also Printing Plates and Bonus Stickers, but honestly...what sets this release apart is the fun new 'date-specific' tie-ins!

That's right...this Series has some direct connections to the Winter Olympics that kick off in Sochi just days after the release date! The Olympic-themed cards are called 'Olym-Picks', and have a variety of different subsets.Olym-Picks Athletes consist of 11 characters (22 cards) and poke fun at popular Olympic Sports. Olym-Picks Motion Cards (set of 10) bring back the lenticular technology to bring crashes and general GPK-goodness to life. Also new are Etched Foil Olym-Picks Medals for 10 different events (yes, there is a Bronze, Silver, and Gold version for each!) Lastly, Olym-Picks C Variations provide a third variation for 10 select characters.

Phew! That's a TON of chase/insert/etc. What, there's more?!?! Why yes, this Series also debuts some other exclusive parallels including Metallic Red and Full-Bleed Canvas. There's also Blank BackCloth Stickers, andSepia. And don't forget Die-Cut Sketch Cards...andTexture Relics that use different materials to add an actual "feel" to the stickers. And Art Variations. Seriously, make it stop!! My bank account just threw up all over itself.
